Born and bred in Gypsy Hill, South London, Aaron grew up singing along to whatever music was playing at home. At 15, inspired by the boom of the nu-metal scene, he picked up a guitar and hasn’t put it down since.
Throughout his life, hip-hop was Aaron’s passion, in particular the early 90's east/west coast hip-hop scenes. It was also a constant that saw him through a lot of tough times. Spittin' lyrics was his way of venting all the pent up feelings caused by the hardships of his childhood and it kept him from losing his way.
As time went on Aaron honed his craft, realising that this was his destiny. Despite initial grumblings from his family that he should get a proper job, as Aaron’s talent became increasingly apparent their doubts morphed into real support. At 18 Aaron relocated to Bow to study at the British Academy of New Music and living in the home of grime had a massive impact on him as an artist.
In recent years Aaron has really engaged with more vintage styles such as honky-tonk, classic swing and gypsy jazz. This has had a profound effect on both his artistry and his outlook on fashion and he draws a lot of inspiration from particular eras such as the industrious age of the late 1800's, Vaudeville and pre/post-war Europe.
His unique and striking style calls to mind a dapper Victorian gentleman for the 21st Century. With good looks to match, a growing reputation as a thrilling live performer and a batch of songs with huge crossover potential, Aaron Delahunty is a name to watch out for.
